Universal access guaranted

Tranvías de La Coruña is fully committed to total accessibility, demonstrated commitment with the implementation of the UNE 170001-2 standard certified by AENOR.

Integral low-floors

The fleet has been modernized to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility and currently all buses have integral low floors. This allows easy access to the vehicle for passengers with any type of limitation, including those with reduced mobility, children or strollers.

Ramps and space for wheelchairs

The entire fleet is equipped with a telescopic ramp and an exterior button for wheelchair access. All the buses also have a central platform for disabled persons, including hand grips and request stop buttons, backrests, as well as information pictograms and interior signs indicating when the ramp is moving.

Reserved seats

100% of the fleet has reserved seats for people with reduced mobility, with bars, armrests and greater width to make the journey more comfortable for such passengers and to give them more freedom of movement.

Access system and sliding doors

The kneeling system enables the vehicle to incline in order to facilitate access at stops. The inside floor is made of anti-slip material both when wet and when dry, and there are lights for getting on and off. Another method applied to facilitate access is the installation of fast and silent sliding doors, together with bars at the doorways, and different coloured bands on kerbs and the pavement to guarantee safety.

Visual and acoustic information

The visual and acoustic information systems inside the buses have been designed to assist people with hearing or sight impairments. There are also audiovisual information screens inside the buses. The request stop buttons are in braille and there is signed access for guide and assistance dogs.
